The 15 New Port System Authorities are the nodes of a logistic network that integrates maritime, terrestrial and air transport, in continuity with the TEN-T Corridors that connect Italy to Europe, from the Baltic to the Atlantic, and to the networks of the Mediterranean

The innovations introduced by the recent port and logistics reform

The recent Reform of the Portualità and of the Logistica, promoted by the Minister Graziano Delrio, has given life to a national port system reorganized, simplified and of greater efficiency.

A strategic framework to support Italy’s role as a gateway to Europe on the Mediterranean, facilitating the transport of goods and passengers and creating jobs and economic development.

Port legislation has been revised and administrative actions for innovation, digitalisation and system coordination have been introduced, along with improvements to the logistics network.

The 58 major Italian ports are now reorganized into 15 new Port System Authorities, which have a place of coordination in the National Conference at the Ministry.

The new Adsp are the nodes of a logistic network that integrates maritime, terrestrial and air transport, in continuity with the TEN-T Corridors that connect Italy to Europe, from the Baltic to the Atlantic, and to the Mediterranean networks.

Italian ports are now at the center of a network of connections able to make the transport system at the service of businesses and passengers more organized, intelligent and efficient, combining competitiveness with the dimension of connection with local territories and markets.

The new Authorities also manage the construction of new infrastructural works in a coordinated way, thanks to investments amounting to 450 million euros a year.

A new impetus for the planning and implementation of public interventions able to make Italian ports increasingly efficient and competitive on the international scene.

The interactive map illustrates the new organization of the Italian port and its integration with the European transport network, by considering the opportunities for those who invest and work in the maritime sector.

Detailed data are also provided on the main Italian ports, with a description of their characteristics, sea and land side connections, freight and passenger traffic, ongoing works and planned investments.
