Customs clearance at sea increases the speed of operations by allowing this operational mode of operation for about two years to create other, broad and generalized development to improve not only the performance of all components of this workplace but also the current 90 % of the EC’s external trade by sea and 40% of intra-Community trade intra-sea.

From April it is possible to apply for admission to the procedure even if the post prior to the landing for which the request is activated is a member of the EU and if the time is less than six hours between the departure of the ship and the arrival at the destination.

The administrative simplification generated by the procedure is relevant both to economic operators for the reduction of time and the rationalization of the customs clearance chain that generates considerable impetus for the relaunch of maritime business activities, as well as with the Authorities in charge of controls and in general, on the port logistics system, and not only, but also of integrated logistics, that is, of all the procedures and infrastructures necessary for the handling of goods, the concept of which was defined by the Council of logistics management in 1986 as the process through which to program, implement and control the flow of raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products and their flow of information from the place of origin to the consumer to make it efficient and conforming to the needs of customers.
Fluid traffic increases the potential of Italian ports for the advantage of the country’s logistics system, considering the role of the c.d. sea highways, that is to say, the privileged routes for coastal navigation carried out by small and medium ships that allow the most significant part of the traffic compatible with maritime intermodality to be transferred from the ships to the ship.
It is not only a mere simplification and speeding up of goods delivery in ports but it is also producing more wealth and development for the Country.
