Smart working, Ferrero extends the pilot project to 350 employees

After the positive results of the first test phase, which involved 100 workers, the Alba company will allow another 250 employees to work from home one day a week.

It is the so-called smart working or agile work.

In Italy there are already many large companies involved. 250 thousand “smart” workers, according to data from the Milan Polytechnic Observatory.

A number destined to grow, as shown by the choice of Ferrero. The company, which had launched a pilot project for 100 employees in April, announced that from 29 January 2018 it will extend the agile work to another 250 workers at the Alba plant.

Employees will be able to work from home one day a week.

The first experiment was successful, as evidenced by the numbers and feedback from the staff. In just over six months, agile work saved about 5000 hours of travel.

The employees have done 12 thousand hours of work from home. Employees and managers are satisfied with the results obtained: working in a smart way has not had negative repercussions on productivity.

On the contrary, it has positively influenced the individual ability to organize one’s own time, respect for deadlines and autonomy in the management of work.

The workers involved did not encounter any problems in coordinating with their colleagues, both in the sharing of information and in the management of the urgencies, and they appreciated the demonstration of trust on the part of the company.
