Companies, Growth, SMEs, Economy Form State, Euro Zone, manufacturing is confirmed in the expansion area
The average of the first quarter PMI has so far been the second highest since the spring of 2000.
The PMI, Purchasing Managers’ Index, remained above the non-change threshold of 50, thus signaling an expansion for 56 consecutive months.
The Eurozone manufacturing sector continues to expand at a high rate in February.
The IHS Markit PMI final Index of the Eurozone Manufacturing Sector decreased from 59.6 in January to 58.6 points, but was better than the previous flash estimate of 58.5.
The figure is well above the relative long-term average of 51.8. The PMI remained above the non-change threshold of 50, thus signaling an expansion for 56 consecutive months.
At national level, Germany confirms the towing economy with a PMI index of 60.6 points (60.3 flash estimate).
Italy goes to 56.8 points on the lows of the last 5 months.
France also at 55.9 points (56.1 flash estimate), while Spain reaches 56 points (maximum over 3 months).
“Although the Eurozone manufacturing PMI fell in February for the second consecutive month – says Chris Williamson, Chief Business Economist at IHS Markit -, survey data show how companies are still benefiting from their better growth period in 18 years.
