Launch of the 17th edition of the STAR Conference, the annual event dedicated to the meeting with Italian and international investors.
Today and tomorrow 67 companies listed on the STAR segment will be the protagonists of the over 2500 meetings requested, with an average of 39 meetings per company.
270 investors representing 170 investment funds are present at the Conference, of which 35% are domestic and 65% foreign (Italy 35%, France 14%, Switzerland 13%, UK 13%, Germany 5%, Spain 4%, USA 3 %, another 6%).
The STAR segment
The STAR segment now includes 74 listed companies with a total capitalization of € 44.3 billion (figure updated as of February 2018).
The important presence of international investors in STAR capital is confirmed: 86% of the capital held by institutional investors is represented by foreign investors, but the presence of Italian investors increases, also thanks to the Individual Savings Plans.
In terms of Market Value by geographical area: Europe (excluding Italy) 38%, North America 28%, UK 20%, Italy 14% (in 2017 Italians were 10%).
The STAR segment recorded very positive performances: since its establishment in 2002, the index dedicated to it, the FTSE Italia STAR, has recorded a + 267% (figure updated to March 23, 2018).
The last year was also positive for the companies in the segment: the FTSE Italia STAR index from the beginning of 2017 to March 23rd 2018 recorded a positive performance of + 35.1%.
